This is Part 2 of the series Acrylic Pouring Techniques. Each part of the series will be made up of four techniques. For each technique we have chosen a different artist so that beginners can get familiar with pouring artists to follow.
COLANDER / STRAINER POUR
As in almost all acrylic pours, paint consistency is
key. It is more so for the colander or
strainer pour as otherwise, the design will be lost. This is a controlled pour with very beautiful
effects. Art by Farz does two excellent pours in this video, one on canvas and one on a vinyl record. In our opinion, two of the best strainer pours ever.

DIP TECHNIQUE
This type of technique is versatile and can be done in
different ways. Michelle Edhouse of McE
Art has an excellent video showing one way how it can be done, producing more
than one painting. It is much
appreciated when the artist also shows the dried pour at the end of the video. Result:
vibrant colours, dreamy effects and funky cells. Simply gorgeous !!

DIRTY POUR
This technique is done by layering paint into a cup and
then pouring onto the canvas. Note the
slightly thicker consistency of the paint showed by Julie Cutts in the video. Very beautiful effect of the layers in the
cup and way more beautiful effects when poured.
In our opinion, Julie Cutts is the Queen of cells, so if you love cells, check our her YouTube channel. Simply celldorable 💗

DUST PAN / SPATULA TECHNIQUE
In this technique, paint is first layered into a cup
which is then poured onto a dustpan which has a base coat of paint on it. This produces a beautiful design which is
then carefully poured onto the canvas. A
very fun way to paint producing some very beautiful effects. In this video, Elyse Fournier shows this
technique in three different paintings making us note that this technique works
best with a base coat on the canvas.
