Acrylic
pouring beginners ask ‘Where do I start?’.
Here is a simple ABC for beginners.
A beginner’s journey into the world of acrylic pouring must definitely start by watching videos on youtube. There are many acrylic pouring tutorials that
one can follow. Watch different
techniques and try to choose one that you might feel more confident in trying
out. Watch how this technique is done by
different artists. Also, listen to the
explanations, it is NOT a waste of time.
Be active and join some acrylic pouring groups on FB. There you can follow what others are asking
and the answers given. Read the answers,
yes all of them. Some answers might be
contradictory but you will learn a lot from different answers. Different artists use different methods, there
is no right or wrong. This is ART and it
is subjective but the most important thing is to learn, have fun and enjoy the
process. Another excellent tool is
Google. When you see a term you have
never heard of, Google it. You will find
many explanations in the results.
Check out which materials you need to buy. It can be an expensive hobby. Start small so that you will learn which type
of paints you prefer and which medium works for you. You can use tiles for practicing. If you do not like the result, the paint
washes off easily and you can reuse them every time. If you cannot master a
technique, do not worry, try another one.
You can go back to it again when you are more confident and experienced.
For
some, it might look easy but then find out that it is not as easy as it seems
on videos. That is quite normal. Others
might find it terrifying to start. Well
it is not, just take a deep breath and go for it. Yes, the result might not be like what you
saw on the video, or what you had in mind, but you have tried it and you have
broken the ice. Now it is time to start
having fun. And no matter the result,
hang on to your first painting !!
